Les Sentinelles de l’Éducation is a non-profit organization (NPO) based in Ontario, born from the commitment of parents, guardians and caregivers convinced that no child should have to face school dropout alone.
Our organization was born out of the urgent need to act on school dropout and young people's disengagement from education. We mobilize to support families, strengthen parental engagement and foster the educational success of all children and youth, particularly those from Francophone immigrant communities, with special attention to people belonging to visible minorities.

Our Mission

Together, we raise our children. Together, we refuse to let them drop out.

Les Sentinelles de l’Éducation carries a simple and powerful mission: to bring together, support and inspire Ontario's Francophone immigrant families so that every child can continue their education with confidence, dignity and hope.
Face aux défis qui entravent la persévérance et la réussite scolaires, nous avons choisi d’agir. Nous réunissons des parents, des tuteurs et des personnes responsables qui souhaitent mieux comprendre le système éducatif ontarien, notamment dans sa composante francophone, et qui recherchent des ressources adaptées à leurs réalités et à leurs besoins. Ensemble, nous favorisons un accompagnement culturellement adapté, une écoute attentive et un soutien concret pour aider les familles à surmonter les obstacles qui peuvent compromettre la réussite scolaire de leurs enfants.
Through our initiatives, notably the Parents au Cœur de l’Éducation program, designed specifically for Francophone Black families, we offer workshops, resources and support aimed at preventing school dropout, strengthening parental engagement and fostering the educational success of children and youth.
Through our sub-committees dedicated to awareness, prevention and community mobilization, we work to spot the early warning signs of dropout, raise awareness of available resources, amplify families' voices and strengthen their capacity to support their children. Our governance is based on participation, collaboration and the engagement of our members, in a spirit of collective responsibility.
We believe in the strength of connection, the power of solidarity and the importance of a community that gives every child the means to succeed. We favour a respectful, inclusive and caring approach that values diverse experiences, fosters dialogue and makes collaboration an essential driver of educational success.

Make time for your children

Try to find time for your children. These days, if we don't make time to talk, discuss and play together, many distractions can make your children strangers to you, and you strangers to them.

Take the time to listen to your children when they come to talk to you. What they tell you when you get home may seem insignificant to you, but know that these things matter a great deal to them.
